For what and for whom is Einstein Search suitable? What can it be? And, of course, very exciting: How do I activate the free feature?
Global search in Salesforce is one of the most widely used tools within Salesforce for most users. It is very easy to find precisely what you are looking for. But if this search already works so well, why does Salesforce think it needs to be improved? Einstein search
According to Salesforce, there are over one billion searches per month. This number looks even more remarkable: 1,000,000,000! Only through this simple number of search queries can you imagine what it would mean to make this tool even better and more efficient! This is where Einstein comes into play. With the use of artificial intelligence, there are opportunities for even better search results. Furthermore, with the implementation of Einstein Search, new ways for a user to use the needs far fewer clicks than before to get to a desired result. All in turn. Einstein Search wants to offer new benefits to users through exactly three areas: Personal, Natural, and Actionable.
Personal
Each user has their preferences in a Salesforce Org. This has to do with the fact that he works in a particular area. And, on the other hand, the user is simply interested in a certain spectrum of themes. Let’s briefly imagine what information an account executive is looking for and what information a service agent is searching for.
By using Einstein Search, it is now possible that the search recognizes the preferences of the respective users and prepares the search results accordingly for them. For example, if a user likes to search for accounts located in the technology area, Einstein Search can identify this and show the user more relevant results for him. The same applies to any other classification.
Natural
With the use of Einstein Search comes another remarkable feature* for search. Namely, the ability to use the natural language in the search bar. Most people know it from their daily Google search: you enter full sentences, questions, or something like that and get relevant results back. Similarly, this is now possible through Einstein Search in any Salesforce org!
Through Einstein Search, it is possible in the search to recognize the entered syntax and generate a corresponding search query from it. For example, the individual components of the sentence “my closed won opportunities last month” are recognized, processed into a SOQL query, and eventually executed. The user then receives a direct view showing his/her gained opportunities from the last month!
Actionable
Finally, the topic of actionable is also in focus. With Einstein Search, it is now possible to perform first actions directly from the search. For example, I search for a particular account and want to add a new contact to it so that I can do this from the search. I don’t have to open the account first and then click on “New Contact” again. This is now completely saved. With this option alone, the user saves a few clicks and can use the time gained meaningfully for far more important tasks.
Activation of Einstein Search
Einstein Search is free and can easily be activated in any Salesforce org. Only a few hands are needed.
In the setup, you will find the appropriate area under “Einstein Search”. Here it is possible to turn on the tool for your org globally once. This means that every user of the org has access to the previously selected features. Another option is to unlock Einstein Search only for certain users.
Each Salesforce Org has a specified number of permission set licenses available. How many there are in your org can be easily found through the setup in the Company Information section.
One of the necessary steps is to create a new permission set. This applies to the Permission Set License Einstein Search. This newly created permission set only needs to be given to a user as usual. More is not necessary! If any questions arise, you can read everything about Einstein Search again in the corresponding help article.
All in all, Einstein Search is a very powerful tool to give its users additional benefits through the Salesforce Cloud they use. We look forward to your impressions and experiences with Einstein Search and would be happy if you shared them with us!
